Book of the Moment: Aftermath: Empire's End
AHHHHHHHH!!!!
These books are amazing! They really help set the stage for what happened after the original trilogy, while there are a few things that just don't add up in my character profiling personally. they are things I can live with.
I don't love a few things s about the new characters, and there are few tweaks to the storyline I think more fans would have preferred but overall a great read for a true Star Wars Fan.
SPOILERS!!! WARNING!!!! DOONT READ BELOW THIS LINE UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE TRILOGY!!!!!
Soooo.... I really like that we follow a known but, not main character for most of the series, that being Wedge Antilles. I feel it really helps tie the old and known with the new and unknown. I love exploring the thoughts of Leia and Han as they experience marriage, although I will have to say I don't love the dynamic, instant connection? no not them, I always personally thought it would take a learning curve before their marriage. But I still love them together!
I like how we learn more about Leia's connection to the force and how that impacts her views on motherhood. Although I myself am not a mother as a woman I could really feel the struggle that the women in this series had regarding motherhood and work and other commitments. What is impressive(to me) is that a man was able to capture these feelings to as true as I could imagine them feeling.
All in all, I would recommend this book and the trilogy as a whole. They would be a great summer read for any fans or casual viewers.
