Cottage Core Dress
So I just had to jump on the cottage core train! Because a) have you seen the title of this blog? I mean I’ve been cottage core before cottage core. b) GORGEOUS!!!!! I discovered shirring last year and just fell in love. It is such a simple technique that you can do so much with rows and rows for a stretchy bodice, to just a simple line to add a quick gathering.
This piece was made using the McCalls Pattern M7946 in the C style. I used this lovely knit green fabric from Joann’s that has a slightly silky feel to it. I even added a POCKET! But only on one side to not drag down the flow of the dress too much.
This dress is so cute and makes me look put together while being so cozy and feeling like pajamas at the same time. This is such a quick project even for a beginner and now is the perfect time to make it just before spring ends and we head into summer.
