Book of the Moment: Aftermath
Aftermath

So since Disney has taken over the Star Wars universe there have been some changes to what longtime fans have called the extended universe. These stories include books, comics, and more. I have read some (not all by any means) and knew quite a bit about this extended universe (nerd alert!)
Well, since Disney has taken over they have decided to rewrite history so to speak. and all the books and back stories that had been written are now "legacy", or legend, or basically not part of the story.... wah... wah... wah...
in return though they have narrowed down the true backstory list and have given fans some books to redigest as the "official" Star Wars universe. This is one of those stories...
Aftermath takes place a few years after the Return of the Jedi and is set around the New Republic rebuilding the galaxy and crushing out the final remnants of the Empire. Told from the point of view of some familiar, if not well known, characters and introducing some new heroes to the mix (although probably not the band of heroes you might expect). Interspersed with short stories also occurring throughout the galaxy to see all sides of what is happening "now".
As a fan, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and the new elements fo the universe, and am currently in the middle of the next book in the trilogy. I would recommend this as a fan and as someone who loves to read (although bits make more sense as a fan).
