Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas

Every year fall comes and in Texas while it still may be warm I get ready for the cooler months by stocking up on yarn! The wooly, sheepy, cosyness of yarn. It’s great I spend time exploring my area of Texas. I spend time with family and friends and I get to touch and squish and smell (yes, smell) the wonderful yarn on selection!

I love the Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas! (Formally, the Hill Country Yarn Crawl) as it’s expanded and grown it has blossomed into a great event!  The prizes have gotten bigger, the shops have gotten bigger and there’s more of them! But the people have stayed the same. They are still the sheep loving, llama petting, alpaca raising group from when they started!

Their idea of a good time is a bottle of wine (or other beverage of choice) and ball of yarn and either a set of needles, a crochet hook, or their well loved loom, a group of like minded friends and their evening is set. With talk of anything and everything and their hands busy making, they are happy and continent.

The way the crawl works is you buy your passport, which comes with a guidebook, and a great canvas bag decorated with the slightly updated logo every year. When the official start date comes around you have your bag ready, your money saved, and a gaggle of friends to enable all the purchases! at each shop you enter the daily door prize, you get free patterns and you get a discount off their featured yarn! what a deal! at the end you submit your passport and hope and wish you get one of the grand prizes with enough yarn for a lifetime! (Not really that much but a girl can dream)
And even if you don’t win what an experience!

This year was no expection every shop was fun and had interesting yarns, most had adorable mascots and some pretty cool patterns this year! (Not at all biased because I had a pattern this year...cough, cough) . I’d love to say more but really most of it will be covered in my vlog of the Crawl. And my haul video. Neither of which are uploaded yet as it’s a LOT of editing! Lol!

Talk to y’all later!
