10 years later
It’s been 3 months 9 months and I still can’t believe we have been married for 10 years! It’s amazing how fast time fly’s when you are having fun with your best friend. We have been through so much in such a short time and have grown closer than we ever imagined.
When we went on our honeymoon I actually didn’t know where we were going until the day before we left. Hubby did such a great job of picking a place that we both enjoyed so much we couldn’t wait to get back.
Life happened and time passed and 10 years later we finally got a chance to revisit our Honeymoon destination. Oh you probably want to know where right?
Charleston, SC
I got to plan our second trip to Charleston and this time we really wanted just a few things: time at the beach, gelato, and reliving the best meal of our lives. I booked us a little Airbnb in Mount Pleasant as it was just a 5-minute drive from downtown Charleston and 5 minutes from the beach. Perfect location.
The first night there we just grabbed some groceries for the weekend and had dinner at this adorable little cafe called Five Loafs Cafe. The decor was adorable and the food hit the spot. Hubby had the mussels and I had a little pasta dish, because vacation.
Day 2
We started the morning by going to get some breakfast at Metto Coffee and then we headed to the beach for some sunrise photos. We both love photography and it was just absolutely the best. We spent so much time there it was great.
We chilled at the beach later that afternoon and then we got ready for our night out on the town. We drove into downtown early and roamed around the French Quarter area, grabbing our favorite gelato that we had had 10 years before and I can tell you, after 10 years it has not changed, it has only gotten better. Then we walked over to the penultimate moment of our trip at the Charleston Grill. This is one of those places where the photos just kind of speak for themselves but, everything was perfect in every single way. We had come here 10 years earlier and this was our ultimate goal of the trip, to come back to this restaurant. It was magical. It was wonderful, the staff was amazing, the food was just incredible. I could eat all of it all the time, just a magical night for our anniversary dinner.
After we roamed around and found a chocolate factory and loaded up on enough fudge for the night.
Day 3
We had a good sleep-in this morning and went exploring. After breakfast, we ended up going to one of the National Parks nearby, which for me was just an absolute thrill! As a kid, I used to participate in the junior ranger program and they actually let me do it again, which was just awesome! N picked lunch at a place called Detroit pizza place. Honestly, I wasn’t a big fan but he was happy so I was happy. We then went exploring at Barnes & Noble‘s, which is just one of our favorite things to do. It’s just a beautiful city. We ended up going back to the Airbnb and chilling just trying to recoup after our fun day the day before.
Day 4
We woke up and really wanted pancakes, cause how is a vacation not a vacation without pancakes we found a location of The Flying Biscuit which is actually also in our current town and we couldn’t really find anything else that was open and available surprisingly so we went ahead and went there even though we’ve been there before the police was packed but the food was good we went back to the beach and laid on the sun for ever both was cutting the lobster red then we went back and search of a linener because by that time it was quite late we had our heart set on the Griffith which is what place we gone to before and we had had the most amazing fish and chips there but unfortunately it was close the day we went which was just devastating so instead we wandered around and found a place called pearls it also had fish and was so good they had a coleslaw I actually eat, which I’ve recently been able to semi-re-create but we picked up more chocolate and fudge and then a few bits from the place called the Indigo, which I think we had gone to before as well, which was absolutely adorable .
That pretty much ended our trip. It was a beautiful way to celebrate 10 years of marriage and relive wonderful memories while making unforgettable new ones.
Talk to yall later!
